Hi everyone! It's been quite a while since I wrote a product review, but I had a great experience with a product I used recently, so I decided to just go ahead and share it with you guys.
For those of you who aren't familiar with foam hair dye, it is much easier to use than cream hair dye, you can easily apply it evenly to your hair like shampoo!
Before I go ahead and tell you about my experience with this product, let me tell you a little bit about my "hair history". I got my hair professionally dyed blonde 8 months ago.
Ever since then, I've been doing some highlights here and there to hide the ugly re-growth. I also had to cut it shoulder length because the very light blonde Ombre ends were straw-like and just really really dry.
Anyhow, blonde is very high maintenance so eventually I decided to tone it down a little so that regrowth doesn't look as ugly. That's when I decided to get John Frieda's 7PBN foam hair dye. I experienced with Japanese foam hair dyes before and I prefer foam hair dyes for many reasons:
1-They are easy to apply
2-They don't make a mess
3-You don't need anyone to help you apply it
4-They don't damage your hair as much
So without further ado, here is my hair 2 days ago, right before I dyed it.
You can see the ugly regrowth (Yuck!).
And here are the after pictures!
In natural daylight it looks a little lighter:
The result was a cool light brown, which I absolutely LOVE! The ugly regrowth looks much better, and even the darkest parts of my hair got light enough to blend with the rest of the hair.
The blonde highlights were toned down nicely into a pearl blonde, just as promised!
My hair feels soft and nice, I don't feel like it damaged my hair that much. The conditioner that comes with the hair dye is very nice and there's plenty, so it looks like it will last me more than a couple of washes!
I almost forgot! 3 months ago I used Revlon Colorsilk 60 hair dye. It did tone down the brassiness a little, but it only lasted for about a month and it didn't help lighten up my regrowth at all. So if you need an ash toner, but don't want to lighten your hair up, Revlon might be a better option. Don't expect it to lighten up your hair though!
